Joel Gragg is a Singer-Songwriter, Producer and Guitarist. His music incorporates elements of Folk, Blues, Country, Rock and Power-Pop under the genre melting pot of "Americana". An Indiana native,Gragg has shared the stage with Malcomb Holcombe, Over the Rhine and members of John Mellencamp’s band.
Gragg began writing songs early in high school and started “crudely” recording them on a two track and later a four track cassette recorder. He decided that learning how to capture that sound in order to record his songs was the way to go, thus became his emphasis in college.
After moving to Nashville (the 1st time) he spent years working on the stage and in studio’s as an engineer, producer and sideman. Gragg put out his first solo debut "When the Dust Settles" in 2008. Shortly after he moved back to Indiana taking a job at a respected Audio Company as a consultant and technician. Over time the tug to be back in the epicenter of recording and songwriting couldn’t go unanswered and he moved back to Nashville in 2015. In 2017 he released "The Miles Between", which speaks to the aspects of beauty and pain found within both our relationships and ourselves.
Gragg's songwriting is often described as coming from the lyrical depth of an old soul, who tells the story in an honest and unfiltered light. There is a kind of comfort found when an artist strives to share their craft in such a manner, and in this regard Gragg provides a unique potency all his own.
